"Thank you so much for the incredibly delicious meal you provided at Barium Springs Home for Children on 7/23/2010. As you could probably tell, the children, their families and our staff were truly excited by your generosity. We appreciate you thinking of Barium Springs with your donations. Please know we are sincerely grateful. Your act of kindness truly makes a difference in the lives of these children in need and assists us in providing additional services."

"Habitat for Humanity of Iredell County would like to thank you, for your participation in our recent 25th anniversary luncheon. Your generosity and continued support have been a blessing to Habitat, to our staff and volunteers, and to the families we serve. The food was delicious, and the prayerful way you approached this event was refreshing and encouraging."

"Thanks so much for coming to Fifth Street, not only feeding hungry stomachs, but coming to be a part of our ministry. Your presence speaks loudly to our folks - that they are loved and cared for. Plus...Jeff Harvey can cook a mean chicken, from what I understand!! That's certainly a treat around here!!!"
- Patti West, Fifth Street Ministries
"Jesus tells us, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 23:39) But who exactly is our neighbor? Well, the simple answer is everyone. However, while it’s easy to love our family and friends (usually), Jesus tells us that, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor.” (Luke 4:18)
This is my personal conviction for service; to help those less fortunate. Volunteering with Grill For God is where I’m able to serve my neighbor in humility and love, not to mention eat some excellent grilled chicken. I must say that G4G chicken is the juciest and tastiest chicken I’ve ever had. If you haven't had it, you should go to the next fundraiser and try it. Plus, your purchase (or donation) will help feed the neighbors who Grill For God feeds at a future event.
Jesus has a “soft spot” for the poor, urging us to take care of the poor, to love the poor as he would – “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat . . .” (Matthew 25:35).
My hope is that by virtue of this ministry, of service to the community (our neighbors), that we will touch the hearts of lost souls. I hope we plant the seed that sets our wandering neighbors on a path to find Jesus. God Bless!
